Power Season 4 Episode 2

Updated: Jun 23, 2024

Last episode Tariq escaped being killed by Noma with the help of Brayden. Everyone's out to get Tariq but he ends up making and deal with Noma and she lets him live.

I would like to give a special congratulations to this cast member and the way they showed out this episode. Monet's old-school bang, She did not come to play. I couldn't stop staring at it when she was on screen lmao. This episode was crazy. I feel like this is the way you do a last season. Show many shows don't go out on a high note for the last season. Everyone is acting for their lives and its amazing. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the Noma character but her acting has made me come to love her story arch and scenes.

So in the beginning we see Michael Early (lol), the detective looking in Tariq and everyone around him. Last episode I was worried about having another "Sax" situation, but I feel like they switched it up in such a smart way. I think Michael's acting can bring something new to a role that's similar to previous roles.

Next we see Tariq and Brayden trying to be "normal college kids". It was funny to see given we still have the rest of the season left. So of course Tariq is like we need money. Brayden has been disowned by his family, and now the family name means nothing. So they have a conversation about possibly getting in drug selling again.

Cane is talking to some man about finding out about Monet's shooting. Yall, I cannot deal with Drew at all. Him and Diana planning the shooting and still going around with Cane like a episode of scooby doo. Like Cane going to take the mask off and it Drew or Diana.

Noma eventually starts questioning Obi's loyalty. For some reason Obi is just giving snake to me even though I'm not necessarily on Noma's side. Honestly, I'm not sure who's side I'm on. This season is so messy already lol

We have a scene with Cane, Drew, Diana and Monet. It is just really giving a game of clue. And surprise it was Tasha in the suv with the gun. It's the same conversation over and over again lol

Drew is on one. He was thinking about switching Monet's pill. Like not him tryna cause his mom to overdose, that's so wild. I can't lol. Drew has an interesting story arch because instead of the Tejada family believing Cane should be the next in line to run the business, they focused on Drew. But it's like were they right because he made the decision to take Monet out because she was hurting the family. Like the theme of their class does this make him a good leader or just heartless?

Lmao I cannot remember Michael Ealy's name on the show but he visits Method Man to intimidate him and its like he's just making his rounds to talk to everyone like "I'm here." I don't know how they would film it but real G's move in silence, lasagna and whatnot. But he was like proud to say that this is his investigation. It's so funny cause everyone is like you can take your hunches somewhere else. EXCEPT for Obi, the damn visa's or whatever is causing so much chaos in life. Like everybody and they momma knows about these visa's for his family lmfaoooo.

He threatens Tariq his mom will be released from witness protection. This kinda gets to Tariq. He ends up meeting with Tasha and talking to her but he won't tell her what happened. Especially that he's getting back in the game. He's sad to see her working a regular job for barely minimum wage. Especially since he's in the same situation now. I hate that you can almost understand why they wanna live the way they live.

In the midst of this Noma is presented with the idea from Effie of working with the Russians. The fist meeting goes horrible. Cane and Effie come up with a plan behind Noma's back.

At the end of the episode we find out Tommy's mom had something to do with Tariq finding out Monet had something to do with finding out where Tasha was. Monet denies it and vows to find out who was behind it cause clearly they wanted her dead.

So I want to close out the review with congratulating Golden Brooks. I remember watching her on Hollywood Divas crying her heart out because she couldn't figure out why there weren't more roles for black women in Hollywood. She was asking her agent to try harder to find roles. To see her on power and not just in a one scene role is amazing. I'm so happy to have witnessed her story on t.v.

Oh and Diana's pregnant.....
